Test Facilities for Water Meters

Our water meter test facilities are designed to make gauging office checks and calibration of water meters of various different sizes and types (bulk water meters and compound water meters as well as standpipe meters) in the 0.006 m³/h to 120 m³/h range.

The facilities work with weighing scales as a control standard and electromagnetic flow meters (EFMs) as working standards. There is an option to determine the measurement duration, the measurement volume as well as the standard by setting the parameters in the test sequences. To generate the flow rates at the appropriate metering points, an elevated tank or a constant pressure source and frequency-controlled pumps are deployed. The flow rate is also influenced by means of control valves.

By comparing the volume measured by the test object with the control standards and taking the temperature into account, any deviation of the test object is determined in accordance with the regulations that apply. 

The regulation and measurement data capture is carried out through a programmable logic controller, the recording of the pulses and the changeover time is carried out by our own measurement electronics. The management of the testing operation is implemented by means of a PC with an SQL database.

            • 3 EFMs of 6/25/80mm nominal width as working standards
            • 2 sets of scales with tanks of 300 and 600l capacity as control standards
